Welcome to the world of Second Life, and my residency there as Raspus Upshaw! If you haven't heard of Second Life, it is a wonderful internet experience unlike any other, with social applications that are just now beginning to be explored, largely due to the incredible developer base. Wikipedia describes Second Life:
Second Life is an Internet-based virtual world which came to international attention via mainstream news media in late 2006 and early 2007. Developed by Linden Lab, a downloadable client program enables its users, called "Residents", to interact with each other through motional avatars, providing an advanced level of a social network service combined with general aspects of a metaverse. Residents can explore, meet other Residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, create and trade items (virtual property) and services from one another.
As of May 1st, 2007, I am currently a member of Second Life, with the name of Raspus Upshaw. Be sure to keep looking back here for more details about my experiences and developments -- I'm working hard to present an educational component in this new, exicting format.
